Military Service: Between 1776 - 1778, Johan Frederich served in the Rebolutionary War. He went in place of his father. He fought at Brandywine and Germantown. He saw General George Washington march through Chester with his troops.

Died: January 17, 1841 in East Brunswick Township, Schuykill, PA. From the Schuykill Cty German Newspaper issued 1841, it shows that he died at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 6 days. He died of old age. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier. He outlived many hot fights, particularly that of Long Island.

Info on William Knittle, born 1798 in PA and his descendants was provided by Ronald Jaynes. Ron is not positive of the connection but believes this to be his family. Madelina Molly Knittle Born 1799 died in Allen Cty, Ohio. That is where William Knittle, born in 1798, resided and died. I have personally dug into the Knittle line in Ohio and have yet to find solid proof of the connection. I have seen that they all resided in PA, New York, or my specific line moving to WA. I'm assuming there is a connection, but i have yet to find it because the Ohio line i've traced a bit and it leads to members coming directly from Germany, not from PA. Therefore, this person and the Decendants are still being worked on.
