Fun Facts:
Walter moved with his father when he was about 8 years old to Olympia, WA from Williamsport, Pennsylvania. In 1915, at 27 years old, he lived in Tacoma, WA. He was 5' 9.5" tall, weighted about 156lbs, and had dark hair and blue eyes.
When his father died, there are significant court records showing that he fought against his then wife, Ella, for the property. He argued that George abandoned his mother, Clara, in PA and that no legal divorce happened, therefore the property is technically Clara's. He was granted executorship as well and was eventually awarded the home and some personal effects.
He was killed when a tractor tipped over and pinned him into the ground.

527. William Hirum Knittle
Lineage: George Frederick11, Johannes "John"10, Johann Adam Sr.9, Johan Freiderich8, Michael Joseph7, Joseph (Josef)6, David5, Hans4, Hans3, Hans/Johannes2, Stephan1
Born: October 9, 1869 in Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania
Died: February 18, 1873 in Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania
There is not much information on him since he died so young. He was only a little over 3 years old. He most likely died of some disease at the time. He was the child of George and his first wife, Josephine. There is not a lot of information regarding Josephine that I can find. One thing I find very intriguing is that it's believed her maiden name was Bonaparte. During this time, there seem to be a lot of plays and information around Napoleon Bonaparte, emperor of the French. His first wife's name was Josephine and there are so many newspaper articles about Napoleon's famous battles and his love with Josephine. It makes me wonder if there is a connection down the Bonaparte line back to Napoleon. Although the Knittle's would not share DNA with them due to all of Josephine's children dying, we would be related via marriage.
528. George Arthur Knittle
Lineage: George Frederick11, Johannes "John"10, Johann Adam Sr.9, Johan Freiderich8, Michael Joseph7, Joseph (Josef)6, David5, Hans4, Hans3, Hans/Johannes2, Stephan1
Born: March 24, 1877 in Lycoming Co., PA
Died: December 23, 1879

Like his brother, I'm unable to find any additional details about him or even his cause of death.

529. Maria Elziah Knittle
Lineage: George Frederick11, Johannes "John"10, Johann Adam Sr.9, Johan Freiderich8, Michael Joseph7, Joseph (Josef)6, David5, Hans4, Hans3, Hans/Johannes2, Stephan1
Born: February 13, 1879 in Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania
Died: April 23, 1879 in Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania
There is not much regarding Maria. But based on the timeline, and the fact that Josephine died on March 31, 1879, my guess is that Josephine either had complications from child birth or ended up ill, and once she died there was no way to provide for Maria. That, or she ended up sick as well. Given that her brother George died only 8 months later, my guess is that they passed from some sort of disease.
531. George Henry Knittle
Lineage: George Frederick11, Johannes "John"10, Johann Adam Sr.9, Johan Freiderich8, Michael Joseph7, Joseph (Josef)6, David5, Hans4, Hans3, Hans/Johannes2, Stephan1
Born: September 23, 1893 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania
Died: April 26, 1971 in Thurston County, Washington
Married: Susan "Susie" L. Wise on March 9, 1920 in Chehalis, Washington. Susie was born on January 7, 1875 in Wisconsin and died on December 7, 1942. She was the daughter of Henry Wise and Marian Bradley.

Children: They had no children together.

Fun Facts: Susie had been married prior, to Volney A. Hanks on November 1, 1890 where she had 8 children: Lilian Velma Hanks, Adeline Marian Hanks, Leslie Lewellyn Hanks, Esther G. Hanks, Ernest V. Hanks, Helen Deborah Hanks, Olive Hanks and Vivian Leona Hanks. Volney did not pass away until 1929. Given she married George Knittle in 1920, my assumption is that she divorced Voley at some point between 1910 and 1920 but cannot find any divorce records. In census records of January 7, 1920, it still lists them as living as husband and wife. Based off this census, then it would mean the divorce happened at some point between January 7, 1920 and March 9, 1920.
532. Elizabeth "Lizzie" M. Knittle
Lineage: George Frederick11, Johannes "John"10, Johann Adam Sr.9, Johan Freiderich8, Michael Joseph7, Joseph (Josef)6, David5, Hans4, Hans3, Hans/Johannes2, Stephan1
Born: February 17, 1890 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania
Died: December 9, 1967 in Loyalsock, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania
Married:
1). Robert Miller some time before 1910. He was born in about 1885 in Pennsylvania and died sometime before 1940. As of 1910, he was a barber and lived in Williamsport Ward 2.
2). Mr. Koch about 1950.

Children with Robert Miller:
***. Ina Mae Miller
b. November 27, 1908 in South Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania
d. March 19, 1983 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was buried on 3/22/1983

Fun Facts: Elizabeth, her daughter and her mother Clara are buried at Wildwood Cemetery in 356 DE. Elizabeth's daughter, Ina, was given permission by the Pass family to be buried in this same lot owned by Mary E. Pass, Clara's mother (Ina's great grandmother). In the cemetery documents, Elizabeth's last name is Koch. The Koch family is a VERY prominent name in the area - especially considering the men who built with World Trade Centers were the Koch brothers and direct descendants of the Koch's in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania where the Knittle's inhabited.
